My Story…

I’ve had migraine my entire life… I just didn’t know it. Migraine was episodic and while some of them would knock me down, a nap, a dark quiet room and simple over the counter medications would resolve it. That all changed in January 2020 when a migraine dropped me to the floor. I couldn’t move without excruciating pain in my head. Little did I know that this was only the start. My migraine became chronic a couple months later. Chronic migraine is 15 or more migraine days per month. I average 29 migraine days a month. I get several types of migraine but the scariest and most painful are hemiplegic migraine. My right side, including my tongue become weak or paralyzed and nerve pain is off the charts. I have been treated by more than 2 dozen medical professionals, tried 46 different medications and even had a neurostimulator implanted to attempt to control my out of control brain. Nothing has helped thus far. I keep fighting. I control what I can control every single day. Water, rest, activity, stress… migraine is like a mogwai. If you don’t follow the rules it turns into a Gremlin. 💜
