My Story…
I've lived with migraine for over 25 years, and as with any chronic illness, I've made my way through the seven stages of grief, multiple times, in no specific order. The seventh stage - acceptance - has slowly transitioned into an eighth - advocacy. It took me over 20 years to gain some semblance of control, which allowed me to channel my slowly growing energy into a space that allowed me to help others that needed a stronger voice. Once of those spaces is Miles for Migraine. They support, they advocate, they educate - the team is amazing, and I'm proud to have received their Patient Advocate recognition, as well as to have become a member of the Advocacy Connection Team. I'm excited to take my voice to their Run/Walk/Relax event, and I encourage you to join me! My village is invaluable, and I'd love the share the moment. I am also raising money to fund fellowships for headache specialists - right here in Chicago! Every bit - your presence, your donation - helps, so whether you raise some money or grab those walking shoes, I see you and I appreciate you!
