My Story…
I have battled with headaches & migraine since I was 6 years old. I remember being sensitive to light, smells & sounds, while feeling nauseated or vomiting from the sensitivities. The only relief I had was to bury myself under the blankets in darkness until I would black out from the pain. It was hard for people around me to understand pain they couldn’t see & I didn’t know anyone else who experienced migraine at the time.
Present day: during pregnancy, headache & migraine episodes were significantly reduced (hoping for more research on how pregnancy eliminates chronic conditions & how to make that work for everyone!). From my pregnancy days to now, since I am currently breastfeeding, I have abstained from caffeine & alcohol completely, which also has significantly reduced the pain & episodes. My go to therapies are: Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Excedrin, Rizatriptan or Ondansteron.
I hope this helps at least one person who feels alone suffering from an invisible condition!
