My Story…
How another year has passed, I’m not sure! But I am so honored to once again run and raise funds for Miles for Migraine. I have lived with migraine for over 25 years, and while it has significantly impacted my life - family, work, friends - and still does, I work hard to manage the pain and non-pain effects so that I can continue to advocate for resources and bring education to the community. And as a proud member of the Miles for Migraine Advocacy Connection Team, I ask for your support by signing up for our Migraine Marvels team, giving financial donation or passing along our message.
Personally, this past year has been one of incredible growth for my work in advocacy. I’ve had the pleasure of talking with people new to migraine that just didn’t know where to start, and shared the amazing resources we have at our disposal through Miles for Migraine. I advocated for legislation impacting people living with migraine, both virtually and traveling to Washington DC for in-person meetings at congressional offices. And through that work met other Chicago advocates that I am looking forward to connecting with at this year’s run! I’ve had the pleasure of attending the amazing programming that Miles has, including “HER: Health Empowerment Revolution”, a new program designed especially for women navigating migraine while also working through the many other health challenges they may have at different stages of life.
Miles for Migraine is an incredible organization, providing a diverse assortment of support groups, educational programming, family sessions and more. Every penny I raise goes to continue their mission to make education and support visible and accessible.
